Hunting Information:

Lowveld Hunters is proud to offer three outstanding areas for top quality trophy hunting.

ZAMBEZI ESCARPMENT: Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, Crocodile, Sable, Chobi Bushbuck and common plains game.

SOUTHERN LOWVELD: Big Elephant - Gona-Re-Zhou Area where Elephant average 50-60 pounds. Campfire concession bordering on the park which also has Leopard & Crocodile.

GAME RANCH AREA: Very good populations of plains game such as Buffalo, Kudu, Sable, Eland, Zebra, Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Giraffe, Impala, Hogs, Klipspringer, Small Cats, Leopard, Duiker and Game Birds.

Hunting is available throughout the year. The dry winter months April through October are the best for hunting. The temperature averages in the low 40 (F) during the day. There are few insects or snakes during the dry season.

Facilities:

The following is included in the price of the hunt: The service of a highly experienced, licensed professional hunter, the hunting vehicle, staff both in the field and domestic. Very comfortable accommodation in all our lodges and hunting camps with all modern conveniences. Beer, wine and alcohol is included in the daily rate. Professional field preparation of the hunting trophies. Daily laundry. All hunting mileage. Medical air rescue insurance M.A.R.S. Special diets are catered for.

The following items are not included in the daily fee:

Trophy fees ( See price list).
Packing, dipping and shipping of trophies.
Meat of animals shot.
Gratuities which are to the clients discretion.
Ammunition supplies.
Hotels before and after the safari.
Transport from port of entry to base camps & return.

General Information:

Zimbabwe is bordered by the mighty Zambezi River in the north and the Limpopo River in the South, just north of the Tropic of Capricorn. The central area known as the watershed is approximately 4-5000 feet above sea level.

The Zambezi Valley Escarpment and the Southern Lowveld are the big game and plains game hunting areas. The Lowveld hunts can include golf and Florida strain large mouth Bass fishing if desired.

Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe and is well served by international connections where clients will be met and directed to their hunting area. Pickup and return to Harare is by quotation for road or air charter. Transfers between camps are not charged for by road, but air charter is available for an additional charge. Extras are a 2% Government levy charged on the full daily rate. We will arrange shopping trips for curios, emeralds, leather goods and such items.

Temperatures vary day and night sometimes by 40 degrees C. Warm clothing is advisable after sundown and comfortable loose hunting clothing and boots are necessary. The rainy season is from November to March,. The dry months are mild with clear blue skies and are most suitable for hunting, except for the special elephant hunts.

Any safari activity is potentially hazardous and it is essential that all lawful directions and advice of the professional must be followed. Lowveld Hunters accept no responsibility for any illness, accident or loss whatsoever incurred in the course of the safari or for any expense arising from such illness, accident or loss.

Health & Travel:

There are no vaccinations required for entry to Zimbabwe. We recommend that clients start a recognized prevention course for malaria prior to their travel in Africa.

Valid passports are required to enter Zimbabwe. Only certain passport holders require Visas.

Weapons & Personal Equipment:

We recommend that you bring your own hunting rifles and a good supply of ammunition. Firearm permits are issued by Zimbabwe Customs at port of entry. It is also best to register your guns with your own Customs agency prior to departure. No restrictions exist, except for automatic weapons which are prohibited. The 375 H7H is the minimum allowed for Buffalo & Elephant. It is suggested that you bring a shotgun with #6 & #7 ½ birdshot, as bird shooting for the pot is available at no extra cost.

Jannie Meyer is a veteran who appreciates what others have given to their country and encourages disabled veterans to come and hunt at Eaglemont where every effort will be made to accommodate their special needs.
