HUNT MID-ASIAN IBEX - KYRGYZSTAN

The Mid-Asian Ibex is the largest of the Ibex species and is primarily found in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. A Mid-Asian Ibex hunt In Kyrgyzstan is probably the best value in a big game Asian hunt. With horns up to 60 inches, the Mid-Asian Ibex is an impressive trophy. Kyrgyzstan has many Ibex and the country is truly magnificent. In the right area you will see many Ibex in the 45-50 inch range. How To Get There:
You arrive at Moscow SVO International Airport where you wait in the transit area and then catch a flight from Moscow to Bishkek. When you arrive in Bishkek our representative will meet you at customs and help you clear your firearms.

Hunting Season:
Hunting Season is from September 1st - December 10th and March 1 - 30. The best time is from September 1st to October 1st

Hunting:
Hunting will be conducted from horseback, walking and hiking. The mountains of Kyrgyzstan are steep and rugged and will require some climbing and walking. Familiarity with horse riding will greatly help. The horses will transport you up into the base camp area where you will stay in tents. Hunting will consist of glassing the hillsides and upper edges of the mountains until the Ram of your choice is spotted. The stalk to the trophy is conducted on foot. Billie's live in remote country in the 11,000-15,000 foot elevation range. The country is truly magnificent. The better condition you are in, the more you will enjoy your hunt. Base camp is located between 9,000 and 10,000 feet.

Accommodation:
Tents, cabins and trailers will make up the majority of your hunting accommodation. Please bring your sleeping bag and thermarest mattress.

Weather:
The weather in the Kyrgyzstan mountains is usually favorable and predictable. Always be prepared for sunshine ( sun block), rain ( rain gear) and snow ( warm clothing ). You should see many days of sunshine. Daytime temperature 35-45 Around November with lows of 25-30 F. Daytime temperatures are warmer in September and the beginning of October.

COMMENTS: Mid-Asian ibex is the largest in the world. It can be found in several Central Asian republics; however, Kyrgyzstan has much higher number of the animals and the best trophies. The hunt takes place on altitudes 10000-12500 ft. Horses are extensively used for transportation during the hunt. Accommodations are in yurts, or cabins. The chance of getting a trophy over 45" is nearly 90%. A trophiey that is in excess of 50 inches is possible.
